The Role

Location: Zurich Offices - Hybrid (1-2 days per week)

This is a high‑impact leadership role at the centre of PureGym’s European investment strategy. As European Senior Investment Delivery Manager, you’ll lead the transformation of our existing estate across Switzerland and Denmark — turning capital investment into tangible improvements in member experience, operational performance and long‑term value. Leading and developing a team of Investment Delivery Managers, you’ll own the end‑to‑end delivery of multiple complex projects at pace, working cross‑functionally and with external partners to ensure every investment is delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards.

This is a Hybrid working role, with 1-2 days in the office and willingness to travel internationally as required. This can be based in our UK, DK or CH offices depending on successful candidate’s current location.

Key duties will include:

Project Planning and Strategy:

  • Formulate and implement project strategies aligned with overall investment objectives.

  • Develop comprehensive project plans outlining scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define project goals and success criteria.

  • Coordinate with internal teams (eg; architects, design managers, marketing) and external partners (eg; equipment suppliers, contractors) to plan and execute investment workstreams and projects.

 

Execution and Monitoring:

  • Lead the execution of investment initiatives, ensuring adherence to project plans and timelines.

  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and pro-actively address issues to keep projects on track.

  • Implement effective project governance and control mechanisms.

 

Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including gym management teams.

  • Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to stakeholders regularly.

  • Resolve conflicts and ensure alignment of project goals with stakeholder expectations.

 

Resource Allocation:

  • Lead a team of IDMs across the markets to delivery projects.

  • Optimize resource utilisation and ensure efficient deployment throughout the project life cycle.

 

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement quality control measures (eg; Fit2Relaunch) to ensure project deliverables meet established standards and enhance the member experience.

  • Conduct thorough project reviews and assessments to identify areas for improvement.

  • Record, issue and archive key project information (eg; asset registers, GA & equipment plans, RAMS)

 

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met.

 

The Person

  • Has experience in Project Management and can manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising on quality.

  • Is an experience people manager, able to coach individuals to achieve high expectations and manage performance appropriate.

  • Ideally is fluent in one or more European language including German, French, Danish. Must be fluent in English.

  • Experience of large-scale leisure, retail, hospitality, or rapidly growing organizations, delivering multiple projects at the same time, with in-depth onsite experience.

  • Has experience of building relationships and performance managing 3rd party contractors and advisers to deliver required results.

  • A highly capable operator who can successfully resolve difficult situations and make critical decisions under pressure.

  • Proactive, accountable, hands on, adaptable and able to react quickly to a fast moving, ever-changing environment.

  • An excellent communicator, with the ability to simply convey complex messages and influence at a senior level.

  • Commercially astute, able to evaluate investment decisions considering member brand expectations balanced with the required levels of return.

  • Member focused, always striving to improve the experience for all members through own area or working across the business.

  • Process orientated, with the ability to identify and remove waste through applying lean thinking.

  • Able to work cross-functionally, to bring together all parts of the business to deliver the right outcome for members and PureGym.

  • Can positively represent PureGym and the Development function when interacting with external peer groups and other stakeholders.

  • Ideally has a passion for, or an interest in, fitness and leisure.

  • Able to regularly travel within Switzerland and Denmark (and other European countries over time).
